So it was another classy weekend, involving great amounts of alcohol and lots of time away from home. Friday just so happened to be my good friend Mark's 21st birthday, so the fab four reunited and we headed out to Dave and Busters in Brampton. Now for those of you who have never heard of this place, you definately have to check it out asap. Basically, an adult chucky cheese. A giant arcade you can get food at. It was actually unreal. I literally felt I had stepped into Fear and Loathing. This may also be caused by my intoxication, but the only thing this place was missing was giant drinking lizards. Needless to say, the 6 of us had a few shots and pints too many, didn't even play any games, then headed back to Mark's garage and continued the night. I'd like to let you know what happened at this point, but sadly, this is where I black out and remember next to nothing. Luckily for me though, I filmed a video at some point(???). Crashed hard, woke up at 8:20 the following morning, because as always, I had rehearsal. A rehearsal I once again did not make it to. I did attempt to chase down the bus though! A failed attempt none the less. So Jamie, Mark, Zach and I ended up spending the day loafting in his bed watching movies for about 6 hours after Sam and Karen left. A classic day after for the four of us. Alas, 6 pm rolled around and as it was Mcbain's first show that night, we had to head back to Milton where I'd meet up with Scott, Wiseman, Shelby and Duff.
Needless to say at this point I hadn't showered, brushed my teeth, washed my face, changed my clothes, or had anything to eat, so I was a little bit of a mess. This seems to be my usual form though. I really am a mess. Upon arriving at Duff's place, we crammed into Scott's car, picked up some supplies from the lcbo then headed downtown to the bad cave and met up with the rest of the crew. The band's were awesome. Lioness got the night started and were a definate crowd pleaser. Mcbain ruled, high five to those guys for putting on one of the best first shows I've ever seen. It was the first time I had seen Bored Stiff which fucking blew me away. Near I guess what would be considered the end of the show, some guy smoked his head off the radiator in a bad way and knocked himself out, and because of this the show was called off, ambulance was called, cops arrived along with a fire truck, and most people were forced to leave. A bunch of us hung out at Pizza Pizza until we found out Molested Youth was still gonna play after everything cleared up, so we went back, partied to them, then headed back to Milton. Unreal night. Unreal weekend, followed by the shittiest Sunday morning 6:30 open shift.
So I've basically been asleep all day ever since I got off work, still haven't showered, and just picked up another open shift tomorrow which I am less than stoked on. Fuck. Anyway, my audition is now five days away and I've been going through stages of being confident and stoked to get it over with, to the worst kind of pessimisim and feeling like I don't have a shot in hell of ever getting in. Besides that I've been working my ass off, listening to a lot of Iron & Wine and Forfeit, and trying to find time to just relax and be lazy. Any time to myself it seems I spend sleeping cause I'm so exhausted, or sitting here on the computer downloading and listening to music. But whatever, life's good. It's weekends like this that make me appreciate how awesome my friends are, and how much fun I'm having regardless of this over hanging feeling of needing to grow up.
I'm never gonna grow up.
